The Education SectionCurrent or Most Recent Secondary/High School Once you click on "Education," you will be required to enter your current/most recent high school. In the search high school bar, enter "Mater Lakes" and the fields will populate themselves. After doing so, you will also be able to add your recommenders. For seniors in the class of 2021, the most common date of entry is August 2017, and your expected graduation date is May 2021. If you did not take a year off, graduate early, graduate late, or took time off, ensure you choose the "No change in progression" option. |
Colleges & UniversitiesColleges & Universities If you are a dual enrollment student, please ensure to add the college you have takes courses at, whether Miami Dade College or Doral College or both. Once again, type in the name of the college, choose it, and the fields will populate themselves. Then, check the "Dual enrollment with high school" and "Credit awarded directly by college" boxes. Try to recall as accurately the month you began dual enrollment at the college and the date you stopped/are expected to finish. You will be earning an AA degree from that college, so check that as well. |
Grades Class of 2025's graduating class size is 260. Click "Exact" for class rank reporting, and you should contact your counselor for information on your class rank. Click "Weighted" GPA, and for the GPA Scale reporting enter "6." To check your Cumulative GPA, enter your portal on Dadeschools.net, and find the tab including "Weighted GPA." Enter the number that is there. Current or Most Recent Year Courses For a typical schedule, you will generally report 7 courses. However, if you are taking a Miami Dade College or Doral College course that semester, be sure to include them as well. Mater Lakes follows a semester system. Honors If you have any honors, be sure to include them. This includes AP Scholar, Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance Honor, participant of a summer scholar program, or recognition in other activities (eg. instruments, the arts, writing, sports). Community-Based Organizations If you are a participant of a community program organization, make sure to list them down. Some examples include (LEDA, Questbridge's College Prep Scholars, HSF, Upward Bounds, the Boys and Girls club). Future Plans Enter your career interest and the highest degree you intend to pursue. |
