Who can participate in Dual Enrollment? Eligible 9th through 12th grade students currently enrolled at Mater Lakes Academy who wish to enrich their educational experience by participating in the program. Visit “Requirements” tab for eligibility overview of the program.
How many Dual Enrollment courses may I take at once? Students are allowed to register for up to two classes every semester and a corresponding lab (if applicable); a maximum of eight credits each term.
What grade(s) do I have to earn in each Dual Enrollment course? Students must earn A’s and B’s within the Dual Enrollment course(s) for which they are registered. Students falling below this standard will not be allowed to continue to be part of the program.
What if I want to add a class that was not indicated on my Approval form? Students will only be permitted to register for the course(s) that were indicated on the Dual Enrollment Approval form. If changes need to be made to the form, then the student will be required to complete and submit a new Approval form with the required signatures.
When and where are Dual Enrollment courses offered? Courses are offered after school hours, weekends and during summer vacation.
Can Dual Enrollment courses be taken online? No, Dual Enrollment students are not allowed to take courses online. However if the course is a online course, then the class will be online.
How many credits are awarded for Dual Enrollment courses? Three or more college credits (depending on course) are awarded for each Dual Enrollment course. Do Dual Enrollment courses transfer to other colleges and/or universities? Dual enrollment course credit transfers to any public college or university that offers that course with the same prefix and number. If a student does not attend the same college or university where they earned that Dual Enrollment credit, the application of the college credit to general education, prerequisite, or degree programs may vary at the receiving institutions.
