STEM-Field Scholarships

2019 CGCS-Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarship Program​
Deadline: 04/12/19
Award: $5,000
Four scholarships for two boys and two girls, with a value of $5,000 each, will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic students currently completing their senior year of high school in a member district of the Council of the Great City Schools. 

Youth Activity Grant – Explorers Club
Award: $5,000
Deadline: Varies
Available to: College Freshmen through College Seniors
The Youth Activity Grant is available to full-time high school seniors and undergraduate college students to enable them to participate in field research in the natural sciences under the supervision of a qualified scientist and/or institution.
In addition to the application, you must submit a three-page explanation of your proposed project in your own words and two letters of recommendation to be eligible for this award.

Astronaut Scholarship in Science and Technology

Available to: College Sophomores through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: 18 Awards of $10,000
The Astronaut Scholarship in Science and Technology is open to students majoring in engineering, natural science, applied science, or mathematics.
You must attend one of the participating educational institutions to be considered for this award. U.S. citizenship is also a requirement.
You must be nominated by faculty or staff in your department.

Royce Osborne Minority Student Scholarship

Available to: College Freshmen through College Seniors
Award Amount: 5 Awards of $4,000
Sponsored by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Royce Osborne Minority Student Scholarship is open to minority students who are attending an entry-level radiologic sciences program.
You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial aid, and be a United States citizen or permanent resident to be considered for this award.

Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarship Program

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: 4 Awards of $5,000
Sponsored by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a baccalaureate or graduate degree in the radiologic sciences or health sciences.

URSA Scholarship ProgramDeadline: Varies
Available to: College Juniors through College Seniors
Award Amount: $1,000
The University Space Research Association Scholarship to full-time students who have shown a career interest in the physical sciences or engineering with an emphasis on space research or space science education.
This includes, but is not limited to, aerospace engineering, astronomy, bio-physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, geophysics, geology, mathematics, mechanical engineering, science education and physics.
In order to apply, you must have completed at least two (2) years of college credits by the time the award is received.
U.S. citizenship is required as well as a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Available to: High School Freshmen through College Freshmen
The Ventures Scholars Program is open to underrepresented and first-generation college-bound students. You must be pursuing a math- or science-based career to be considered for this award.

The Women in Wireless Communications Scholarship is available to female students in the College of Technology at Idaho State University.
You must be enrolled in the electronic wireless telecommunications program and demonstrate a strong academic performance, involvement in co-curricular activities and future goals in the field of wireless communications to be eligible for this award.

American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and AC Engineers (ASHRAE)
Undergraduate Engineering Scholarship

Award Amount: Varies
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Undergraduate Engineering Scholarship is available to undergraduate students who are enrolled in an ABET-accredited program leading to a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree.
Your course of study must be related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.

Available to: College Sophomores through College Juniors

The Chevron Society of Women Engineers Scholarship is available to sophomores and juniors at the University of Idaho. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be a member of the UI Soceity of Women Engineers, and be majoring in one of the following fields to be eligible for this award: civil engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science.

Dr. William W.L. “Bill” Taylor Memorial Scholarship CompetitionDeadline: Varies
Available to: College Freshmen through College Seniors

The Dr. William W.L. “Bill” Taylor Memorial Scholarship Competition is available to students attending or planning to attend a Washington DC Metropolitan-area university or college.
You must also be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate academic achievement through your GPA. You must be registered for full-time study as a student in good standing in your high school, college or university.
In addition, you must demonstrate your participation in a Very Low Frequency (VLF) research project, leadership abilities, and your motivation as a physical science student to be eligible for this award.

University Space Research Association (USRA) Scholarship

STEM-Field Internships

NASA Internships Deadline: Varies
Available to: Minimum Age 16 Years
Provided by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the NASA Internships are available to are available to high school through graduate level students attending full-time accredited programs appropriate to the NASA internship. You must be a U.S. citizen, majoring in wide-variety of majors ranging from business to science and engineering to be considered for this internship.
College-level interns must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. As an intern, you will engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities.
In addition, there are non-technical internship opportunities to engage in professional activities which support NASA business and administrative processes.
